Evelyn M. Palmenter

Evelyn M. Palmenter, age 91, of Sebring, Florida, died July 10, 2018 at her home.
She was born July 2, 1927, in Sistersville, West Virginia to James and Bertha (Placer) Wright.
A 1945 graduate of Alliance High School, she attended David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tennessee.
She had been employed by the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company in the Traffic Department, before retiring in 1978.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance and St. Catherine Catholic Church in Sebring, Florida. She belonged to the St. Catherine Woman's Club and Prayer Group.
Evelyn was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, life member of the Heartland Club, AARP, and former teacher's aide and Girl Scout volunteer in Sebring, Florida schools.
Survivors include son-in-law, Bruce McElroy; grandchildren, Heather Hall, Bryan (Sylvia) McElroy, and Bryce McElroy; great-grandchildren, Mariah (Ty) Coon, Austin, Garrett and Kenna McElroy; and great-great-grandchildren, Ellie, Scarlett and Camdyn Coon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Palmenter, who died January 12, 1967, and whom she married in September 1950; daughter, Donna Jean McElroy; brothers, Herman and Earl Hoover; and sisters, Mabel Lazear, Irene Barker, and infant Eileen Wright.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
