Charles H. Birr

Charles H. Birr, age 88, of North Benton, Ohio, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born March 20, 1930, in Alliance, Ohio, to Charles H. and Carrie Elizabeth (McCreadie) Birr.
Charles was a lifelong farmer and a 32°Mason and Shriner. Charles enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and anything outdoors, especially in the autumn season.
Survivors include his sons, Charles H. (Toni) Birr of North Benton, Bryant E. Birr of Memphis, Tennessee and Donald T. (Diane) Birr of Salem; and his companion, Gertrude Herren.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife of more than forty years, Shirley June (Burkey) Birr, whom he married November 21, 1956, and who died February 8, 1999; and two brothers, Lt. Colonel Bryant Workman and Donald Workman.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Neil Orchard officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
