Margaret Belle “Peg” Charlton, age 96, of Sebring, passed away Wednesday September 11, 2019 at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring.
She was born December 28, 1922, in Norton, West Virginia to Orion and Isabelle (Rush) Swecker.
Peg attended Randolph County Schools and graduated in 1938 from Elkins High School in West Virginia.
She resided in Alliance from 1948 to 2015 and was employed with the former Star Transit Bus Company for several years and then retired from the former Stambaugh Hardware Store in Alliance.
Peg was a 50 year plus member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sisters, Della Maschauer of California and Connie Hickey of South Carolina; brothers, Richard of South Carolina, Jennings of Ohio and Robert Swecker of Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Peg was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Charlton, who died January 14, 2005; son, David A. Charlton in 2013; and two sisters, Anna Mae Channell and Josephine Wink.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor John Partridge officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
