Valentina A. Hempsky, age 91, of Marlboro, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born April 7, 1926, in Akron, to Edoardo DeMarco and Antonia (Picone) DeMarco.
Valentina attended Akron Schools and loved bingo, crossword puzzles and coloring. She also enjoyed crocheting and watching game shows; but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her six daughters, Tina (Stephen) Schilling, Cora Hempsky, Candice (Greg) Finn, Michele (Eric) Fryfogle, Cheryl (Tom) Moriarty and Kimberly Akins; grandchildren, Christopher, John, Joshua, Serena, Colin, Matt, Rachel, Cody and Clay; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Valentina, August, Colton and Mack; and many nieces and nephews.
Valentina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale L. Hempsky, whom she married February 14, 1947 and who passed away April 23, 1995; granddaughter, Jennifer; sisters, Giovanna, Bertie, Lucy and Irene; and brothers, Raymond and Primo.
A private service will be held at a later date with interment at Marlboro Cemetery.
