Lucille J. Zorger

Lucille J. (Headley) Zorger, age 86, of Alliance went home to be with her Lord at 4:40 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018, at her home.
She was born July 7, 1931, in Alliance, Ohio, to Henry and Frances Headley.
Lucille was a 1949 graduate of Louisville High School. She was employed as head cook at Lexington Elementary School and also worked at Russell Lynn's Hardware Store.
A very active member of the Marlboro Christian Church, she was Deacon Secretary, Sunday school teacher, youth and Bible bowl leader, and helped with the Food Pantry and served funeral dinners.
Lucille was a Girl Scout Leader, loved to cross stitch, read mystery books, and her Bible every day and travel. She was a member and secretary of the Marlboro Hardscrabble Club and made wreaths for the Alliance Memorial Day Committee.
Survivors include her husband, Duane Zorger, Sr., of Alliance, whom she married November 10, 1950; son, Duane Jr. (Patty) Zorger; and daughter, Diane Oaks, both of Alliance; grandchildren, Jason and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Christina, Zabrina, Cassandra and Drake; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Ruth, Henry Jr., and Virginia.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., April 5, 2018, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Harnish officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Marlboro Christian Church, 9383 Edison St. NE, Alliance, OH 44601.
Mrs. Zorger's family wishes to extend a special thanks to Alliance Hospice for their excellent care given to her.
