Judith Windham

November 21, 1940 — June 17, 2018

Judith Windham, 77, of Homeworth, passed away Saturday morning, June 16, 2018, at University Hospital in Cleveland, after a brief illness.
Judy was all in one, a machinist, mailman, mother and grandmother. She worked for a time for a doctor, and processed department store inventory at night; whatever was needed to support her family. She raised five children of her own and embraced two more as if they were her own.
While working these varied jobs (often two at a time) she made many life-long friends that she considered part of her extended family. After her retirement from Ohio Tool and Drill, she worked part-time for Wal-Mart and later Home Depot. It was there that she added teacher to her resume, working with children on Saturday mornings, as they learned basic carpentry skills.
Judy loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always making certain that each one was convinced they were her favorite. If one would happen to catch her napping, she would wave them off, saying that she was just resting her eyes. No one ever caught Judy napping!
She is survived by her sisters, Nancy Sutton, Patricia Liebhart, and Gail McLaughlin; brothers, Robert and Edward; children, Timothy (Tracy) Stryffeler, Keith (Michelle) Stryffeler and Tracy Windham, all of Homeworth, Kimberly (Steve) Hornick of Louisville, Kevin (Cindy) Windham of Berlin Center and William (Hazel) Windham of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She also leaves eighteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, James Stryffeler; parents, Dewey and Grace (Helman) McLaughlin; second husband, Thomas Windham; and two brothers, Paul and Thomas.
In keeping with Judy's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
A private remembrance will be held by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, www.Cancer.org, to help in the battle against the disease which took so many people that she loves.
She is not sleeping; she's just resting her eyes.
Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75, S. Union Ave., Alliance, OH 44601.
