Gladys "Pauline" Pearce

Gladys "Pauline" Pearce of Alliance, age 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 28, 2017 with her family at her side at Danbury Senior Living.
Pauline was born February 2, 1930 in Fayette County, Ohio to Sarah Clutter Sheridan and Walter L. Sheridan. She was a graduate of New Holland High School and attended The Ohio State University and the University of Michigan.
Pauline devoted her life to her family and community service. In addition to being an active PTA member, she served as an elementary school room mother, a Girl Scout Leader, and a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was an active member of Grace Moravian Church in Westland, Michigan, where she served as the volunteer secretary for many years and sang in the choir. In later years, Pauline enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her friends and sharing pictures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Kenneth Pearce, a brother, Loren Sheridan, and a sister, Martha Whittling.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Dave) Austin of Alliance, and son, Jeff (Martha) Pearce of Long Grove, Iowa; five grandchildren, Michael (Beth) Austin, Leanne (Michael) Vaughn, Tom (Alexa) Pearce, Katy (Troy) Peperkorn and Corinne Pearce; five great-grandchildren, Mavis, Ben and David Austin and Felicity and Alice Peperkorn.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Danbury Senior Living of Alliance and Community Hospice for the loving care and compassion given to Pauline.
Services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be held at New Holland Cemetery, 26160 Egypt Pike, New Holland, Ohio 43145, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
