Elden J Hallman

April 16, 1929 — March 21, 2017

Elden J. Hallman, age 87, of Alliance, peacefully passed away at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday March 21, 2017 with his family by his side.
He was born April 16, 1929 in Alliance, Ohio to the late John and Alma (Brantingham) Hallman.
Elden attended Alliance City Schools and then served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. He was a master carpenter building his own home and worked on each of his children's homes.
He was a member of Damascus Friends Church and enjoyed golfing and wintering in Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Lee (Widmer) Hallman, with whom he celebrated their 60th anniversary February 14th; children, Lynne Hallman of St. Petersburg, Florida, Susan (Mark) Cosma of Alliance, and James (Cheryl) Hallman of Alliance; grandchildren, Abigail (Josh) Booth, Jonathan (Allie) Cosma, Alex (Ali) Hallman and Ross (Kali) Hallman all of Alliance; nine great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ezekiel, Zebedee Booth, Mason and Maggie Cosma, Cooper, Ila and Nash Hallman and Vivian Hallman.
Along with his parents, Elden was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert; and his little dog "Jiggs", who was the reason the great-grandchildren fondly referred to him as "Papa Jiggs".
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
A special thank you is given to Donna Raush and her caregiving team for the loving care they gave to Elden and his family for the last two years.
