Donna Jean McElroy

Donna Jean McElroy, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born August 5, 1951 in Alliance to Eugene and Evelyn Mae (Wright) Palmenter.
A 1969 graduate of Alliance High School, Donna Jean received her Bachelor's degree from Kent State University and was a teacher at Alliance City Schools for 28 years before retiring.
She attended Marlboro Christian Church.
Donna Jean's primary focus was her family, and she loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband (and high school sweetheart) Bruce McElroy whom she married April 25, 1970; children, Heather Jean Hall of Hartville, Bryan (Sylvia) McElroy of Alliance, and Bryce McElroy of Alliance; grandchildren, Mariah (Ty) Coon, Austin McElroy, Garrett McElroy and Kenna McElroy; great-grandchildren, Ellie Coon, Scarlett Jean Coon and Camdyn Coon; and her mother, Evelyn Mae Palmenter of Sebring, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Palmenter.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Marlboro Christian Church with Pastor Ed Carter officiating. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made in Donna Jean's memory to The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 100 W. Old Wilson Bridge Suite 118, Worthington, Ohio 43085.
