Corby K. Smith

Corby K. Smith, age 61, of Alliance, passed away at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Altercare of Alliance.
He was born July 11, 1956, in Alliance, Ohio, to Herbert Arthur and Ona Jean (Johnson) Smith.
Corby was a graduate of Allegheny Wesleyan Academy in Salem. He was formerly employed by Sparkle Bakery in Alliance, food manager and baker at Mount Union College, and baker at Giant Eagle Bakery in Salem until 2001.
Corby was a member of The Home Mission Church of Alliance and a Sunday school superintendent. He formerly sang in the Mount Union Alliance Chorale. He loved baking and cooking, flower gardening, singing for various occasions in the community and sending compassionate cards for birthdays and anniversaries to Missionaries and those who were ill.
Survivors include his son, Ryan C. (Lisa) Smith of Alliance; daughter, Rachelle M. (Brent) Miller of Louisville; grandson, Logan Smith; three granddaughters, Lilly and Lila Miller and Makenna Smith; his parents of Alliance; three brothers, Brent (Judy) Smith of Alliance, Phillip (Tina) Smith of Paris and Rolland Smith of Wooster; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Krysten Smith.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Herbert Smith officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday December 26 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
